Rosa L. Rivera-McCutchen

Associate Professor, CUNY Lehman College

Rosa L. Rivera-McCutchen is an associate professor of Leadership Studies at CUNY Lehman College, a Hispanic Serving Institution, where she also serves as the coordinator of School and District Leader certification programs. Rivera-McCutchen is also an affiliated faculty member in the Urban Education PhD Program at CUNY Graduate Center, and a faculty affiliate at the NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools. An educator for over 20 years, she began her career as a high school teacher and advisor at Wings Academy in the Bronx before earning her doctorate in Teaching and Learning at New York University. A first-generation college graduate, Rivera-McCutchen’s research, teaching, and activism is informed by her experiences attending and teaching in NYC public schools, and centers on achieving racial equity through radical care practices. She lives in New Rochelle, NY, with her husband, who is a public high school teacher, and their three children, who attend public schools.
