Barbara C. Jentleson is currently an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Program in Education at Duke University. From 2002 to 2010, she was the Director of Project HOPE, where she worked on the development of six community-based afterschool programs targeting low-income minority youth in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Jentleson was the former principal of the Pathways School–Hyattsville, an alternative middle school for students with behavior and learning disabilities located in the Washington DC area. She has maintained a lifelong professional interest in developing learning environments that support the academic and social development of vulnerable children and youth.
