Yanira Oliveras is an associate professor in the School of Education at The University of Texas at Tyler. She is a former bilingual teacher, curriculum coordinator, and school principal. Dr. Oliveras’s research agenda and service focus on the advancement of instructional supervision in Belize. She collaborates with the Belize Ministry of Education to build school leaders’ and teacher educators’ instructional supervision capacity. In 2023, she led the development of an instructional supervision sense of efficacy scale. Dr. Oliveras holds a BS in elementary education and an MEd and PhD in curriculum and instruction with a focus on supervision from Penn State University.
