William F. Tate is the Edward Mallinckrodt Distinguished University Professor in Arts & Sciences and Chair of the Department of Education at Washington University. He served as the 2005–2006 Program Chair for the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association. His research interests include SMET education and race and urban policy.
