Teachers College

Her first book, Preparing Teachers for Urban Schools (Teachers College Press, 1993), was honored by the American Educational Research Association for its contribution to research on teacher education. In addition to publishing dozens of articles and book chapters on urban education, she coedited The Global Assault on Teaching, Teachers, and Their Unions: Stories for Resistance (2008) and wrote The Future of Schools: Teachers Unions and Social Justice (2012).
