Tanja Burkhard is a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education. Holding a doctorate degree in teaching and learning and a master’s degree in applied linguistics, her research interests focus on race, immigration, language, and postcolonial theories. As a former ESL and EFL instructor, Tanja particularly centers qualitative methodologies to explore the educational experiences, identities, and languages of Students of Color inside and outside of formal educational settings.
