Susi Long is a professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of South Carolina. She received her PhD from The Ohio State University. Her articles and books focus on home and community literacies, new teachers, and cross-cultural and culturally responsive literacy practices. Dr. Long received NCTE’s 2013 Early Literacy Educator Award and served in leadership roles, most recently as Chair of Trustees of NCTE’s Research Foundation and co-director of NCTE’s Professional Dyads and Culturally Relevant Teaching program.
