Her career spans 40 years, during which time she has focused her professional energies on improving the quality of education for young children, with a special emphasis on strengthening content in action-based programs. Dr. Copeland has presented at national, state, and local conferences, has been a member of local and statewide policy committees, and has participated in writing early childhood curriculum and learning standards.
