Sam Chaltain began his career teaching high school English and history in New York City. Along the way, he co-directed a national network of schools, founded a leadership development program for K–12 principals, and ran an education policy think tank. Now he lives with his wife and two sons in Washington, D.C., where he writes about the state of teaching and learning in America, and how it can be strengthened.
