Ricardo Pitts-Wiley is the co-founder along with his wife, Bernadet, of Mixed Magic Theatre in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Since 2005 Pitts-Wiley has devoted most of his time to teaching and adapting works of literature for the stage. To date he has created works based on Moby-Dick, the poems of Paul Laurence Dunbar, Don Quixote, Frankenstein, The Red Tent, and the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. He has taught acting and directed plays at MIT, the University of Rhode Island, Southhampton College—Long Island University, and Salve Regina University.
