Rebecca L. Damron received her PhD in 1997 from Oklahoma State University in English with a specialization in applied linguistics. She taught at the University of Tulsa for 5 years, directing the Writing Program and Writing Center for 2 of those years. As an English professor in the Rhetoric and Professional Writing Program at Oklahoma State University, she directed the OSU Writing Center for 10 years. Under her tenure, the writing center developed a robust community outreach mission that included supervising the development of a writing center at the local high school, as well as collaborating with the local children’s museum, domestic violence shelter, and library to engage in writing activities. Rebecca is the co-author of How Architects Write, published by Routledge. Rebecca also served as the OSU Writing Project director for 3 years and was a site member for several years before that, working intimately with teachers across the state to improve their writing pedagogy.
