Rebeca Itzkowich has spent 25 years as a faculty member in teacher education at Erikson Institute. As an educator, Rebeca embraces a bilingual, bicultural and binational approach to teaching. Rebeca teaches graduate courses in the areas of language development, bilingualism, family and culture and reading methods. She is a founding member of the Erikson Early Math Collaborative and Racial Justice in Early Mathematics Project. Rebeca is a former preschool, kindergarten and elementary school teacher in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. She is the founding director of Erikson’s Project Connect, a professional learning program for kindergarten teachers across the state of Illinois that is the basis for this book.
