Rae Pica is on a mission to ensure that ­children have the chance to be ­children and that child development guides all our practices with them. A ­consultant in early childhood education for more than 4 ­decades, Rae has served as a keynote speaker, workshop leader, and online course creator. She is the author of 23 books, including What If Every­body Understood Child Development? and Spark a Revolution in Early Education: Speaking Up for Ourselves and the Children. She has shared her expertise with such groups as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Head Start Bureau, the National Association for the Education of Young ­Children, and the Sesame Street Research Department.
