Paula M. Selvester

Paula M. Selvester is a professor of teacher education and teaching international languages in the School of Education at California State University, Chico. She teaches courses in literacy methods, access and equity in education, and curriculum development. Her research interests include emergent and adolescent literacy development, technology in higher education, and second language teaching and learning. Her education policy interests include curriculum development and faculty rights. Her teaching practice has focused upon literacy development in public and private schools, both in the United States and internationally in England and Cairo, Egypt. Before settling in higher education, she taught high school English to English learners for 7 years in rural California.
