Paul F. Dain is a retired teacher from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he taught American Government, Advanced Placement American Government, and Advanced Placement Comparative Government at Andover High School. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree in the teaching of social studies from Wayne State University. In 1983, he received the Outstanding Social Studies Teacher Award by the Michigan Law-Related Education Organization. In 1987, he received the Master Teacher designation by Bloomfield Hills Schools. In 1997, he received the Newsweek-WDIV Michigan Outstanding Teacher Award. In 1984, he authored the Detroit Free Press Elections Workbook, an advanced-level workbook for high school teachers to use in teaching about presidential elections. Paul resides in Florida with his wife, Jane, and continues to be engaged in educational, community, and civic activities.
