Nick Henning is an associate professor in the Department of Secondary Education at California State University–Fullerton (CSUF). A former urban secondary social studies teacher, coach, and daycare/afterschool program coordinator in the cities of Los Angeles and Minneapolis, Nick’s present teaching and research focus on effective urban classroom teaching, social justice education, teacher education for social justice, social studies teaching and teacher education, and the creation of high-quality collaborative supports for social justice educators. He has been a teacher educator for 14 years in the teacher education programs of UCLA, Claremont Graduate University, and CSUF, and he is as passionate about soccer as he is about teaching. Dr. Henning’s recent publications include articles in Teaching and Teacher Education and The Urban Review.
