Nancy Gropper is a retired faculty member and former associate dean for academic affairs, department chair, and director of the Student Teaching Program in Early Childhood and Childhood Education at Bank Street Graduate School of Education. She received both her doctorate and master’s degrees from Teachers College and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. She was a faculty member at Brooklyn College and at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she served as chair of the Department of Elementary Education. She was formerly an early childhood classroom teacher. Dr. Gropper has extensive experience as an evaluator of educational programs, and among her publications are articles focused on gender issues and a book she coauthored titled Supporting Boys’ Learning: Strategies for Teacher Practice, Pre-K–Grade 3.
