Nancy Balaban is a retired faculty member and former director of the Infant and Family Development and Early Intervention Program at Bank Street Graduate School of Education. A graduate of Wellesley College, she received her master’s degree from Bank Street College and her doctorate from New York University. Her extensive background in education includes her work as an early childhood teacher and teacher educator. A speaker and writer, she is author of Everyday Goodbyes: Starting School and Early Care and A Guide to the Separation Process, in addition to journal articles and book chapters.
