Mollie V. Blackburn

Mollie V. Blackburn is an associate professor of literacy education at The Ohio State University. She co-edited (with Caroline Clark, Lauren Kenney, and Jill Smith) Acting Out!: Combating Homophobia Through Teacher Activism. That book was named an “Outstanding Academic Title” by Choice magazine and was recognized by the Conference on English Education with the Richard A. Meade Award in English Education. She also co-edited (with Caroline Clark) Literacy Research for Political Action. Her scholarship received an award for a body of work from the Queer Studies special interest group of the American Educational Research Association. She is the recipient of the Alan C. Purves Award for articles in Research in the Teaching of English that were deemed rich with classroom implications, and the Ralph C. Preston Award for her dissertations that work for social justice.
