Melissa Borgmann has worked as a high school English teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools, a literacy coach through the Perpich Center for Arts Education, a K–12 teaching artist, and director of The Juno Collective, an organization centered on literacy and leadership in and through the arts. In 2007, her Juno programs, including Teens Rock the Mic, were selected by Harvard Project Zero for a case study looking at excellence in arts education. Melissa has also worked as a teacher-consultant for the Minnesota Writing Project, the Arts for Academic Achievement project, the Perpich Center for Arts Education, and as an advisor to the Teaching Artist Journal design team.
