María E. Fránquiz

María E. Fránquiz is Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas–Austin. Her research interests are bilingual/multicultural education and language/literacy studies. She co-edited Scholars in the Field: The Challenges of Migrant Education (with Cinthia Salinas) and Inside the Latin@ Experience: A Latin@ Studies Reader (with Norma E. Cantú). Fránquiz is a native of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
