Lynne Schrum is a professor and coordinator of Elementary Education in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University. Previously she was chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Utah. Her research and teaching focus on appropriate uses of technology, preparing teachers for the 21st century, and effective and successful online teaching and learning. She is a past elementary school and special education teacher. She has written and edited nine books and numerous articles. Dr. Schrum recently finished 10 years as editor of the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE) (2002–2012) and is a past president of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). She has had the honor to work with teachers and leaders in many states and countries as they strive to establish 21st-century schools, develop STEM initiatives, and design effective learning environments.
