Kristin N. Rainville

Kristin N. Rainville is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership and Literacy at Sacred Heart University. Kristin is a former elementary classroom teacher, literacy coach, and state-level administrator. As a faculty member at Manhattanville College, Kristin served as a Professional Development School liaison in one of the Changing Suburbs Institute® districts. Kristin is a consultant throughout the New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey areas, supporting teachers and literacy coaches. Kristin’s research and writing focus is on literacy leadership, whether through literacy coaching, classroom instruction, action research, or teacher candidate preparation. She has published in The Reading Teacher and Reading & Writing Quarterly. Kristin is coeditor of The Language and Literacy Spectrum, the journal of the New York State Reading Association, with her literacy colleagues. Kristin is also a coauthor of Changing Suburbs, Changing Students: Helping School Leaders Face the Challenges (2012).
