Kira J. Baker-Doyle is an assistant professor at Pennsylvania State University–Berks. Her scholarly interests include teacher induction and professional development, teachers’ social networks, and urban education. She is currently developing an urban teacher and leader pipeline program with colleagues at Penn State and several Reading, Pennsylvania, community organizations. She is also the principal investigator of the Linking Instructors’ Networks of Knowledge in Science Education (LINKS-Ed) project. Dr. Baker-Doyle teaches courses in literacy education and urban education. Prior to academia, she had experience working as an educator and as a businesswoman; she taught elementary grades in the Philadelphia public schools and co-founded a nationally recognized gourmet food company, John & Kira’s, with her husband, John Doyle.
