Julie Diamond taught kindergarten in the New York City public schools for 23 years, and worked with young children in a variety of settings, including Head Start and private schools, for almost 30 years. She advises student teachers from City College, and has taught courses at Bank Street College and City College. She is the author of Kindergarten: A Teacher, Her Students, and a Year of Learning and a coauthor of “The Right to Learn: Preparing Early Childhood Teachers to Work in High-Needs Schools” (Bank Street College of Education Occasional Paper Series).
