Joanne E. Marciano

Joanne E. Marciano is assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University. She received her doctorate in curriculum and teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research focuses on qualitative participatory methodologies to highlight opportunities for supporting youth’s literacy learning across contexts of urban education, secondary English education, college access and teacher education. In addition, she taught secondary English in a New York City public high school for thirteen years.
