Jill Uhlenberg, PhD, is an associate professor of early childhood education and head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Northern Iowa. She has a 30-year EC career as a teacher, center director, accreditation validator and commissioner, and teacher preparation faculty member. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for preservice and inservice teachers, with an integrated curriculum development focus, especially science and mathematics for young children. Her research includes toddler spatial problem solving through the Center for Early Education in STEM (CEESTEM), and she coauthored an R&P chapter in NSTA’s Exemplary Science PD text.
