Ian M. Mette is an associate professor of educational leadership at the University at Buffalo. His research interests include culturally responsive instruction supervision, developing equity-oriented educational leaders in predominantly White rural spaces, and how educators, researchers, and policymakers can better inform one another to drive school improvement and reform policy. He is the founding editor of the Journal of Educational Supervision, and his first book, A New Leadership Guide for Democratizing Schools from the Inside Out: The Essential Renewal of America’s Schools, was coauthored with Carl D. Glickman and was published in 2020. Dr. Mette holds a PhD in educational administration from the University of Missouri.
