Hilda Borko is a professor of education at Stanford University. She received her BA in psychology, MA in philosophy of education, and PhD in educational psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Borko was a middle and high school teacher for 4 years. Her research explores teacher cognition, the process of learning to teach, and the impact of teacher professional development programs on teachers and students. Dr. Borko served as president of the American Educational Research Association (2003–2004). She is a member of the National Academy of Education and the 2014 recipient of the Excellence in Scholarship in Mathematics Teacher Education Award from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.
