Helen Janc Malone (Editor) has conducted research on out-of-school time and expanded learning, college readiness, and system-level educational change at Harvard University. She is a cofounder of two American Educational Research Association’s (AERA) special interest groups, on out-of-school learning and on school reform. Her recent publications include “Addressing the Disadvantages of Poverty: Why Ignore the Most Important Challenge of the Post-Standards Era?” (with Henig & Reville, a chapter in The Futures of School Reform, Harvard Education Press, 2012), Expanded Learning Time and Opportunities (Jossey-Bass, 2011), and Lead the Change Series (AERA Educational Change Special Interest Group, 2011–2012).
