Gary Moorman

Gary Moorman is currently professor emeritus at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. He retired in June 2012, after 32 years at the university. His publications appear in many professional journals, including Reading Research Quarterly, Reading Research and Instruction, Journal of Reading, Reading Teacher, Reading Psychology, and Review of Research in Education. He has written three books and edited a fourth. He served as the Online Communities Director for Reading Online, the International Reading Association’s online journal, and as an editor of the Yearbook of the American Reading Forum. He has served on the editorial review boards for Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, ReadWriteThink, Journal of Educational Research, Reading Research and Instruction, Reading Psychology, and Teaching and Teacher Education. He is interested and involved in international education efforts, participating in projects in Poland, Macedonia, Qatar, Egypt, and Bolivia.
