Frances C. Bittman earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Georgetown University and a Master’s Degree in English Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. After working at Manhattan Village Academy, a title I public school for eleven years, she relocated to Connecticut, where she taught at Darien High School for three years and now is in her sixth year at Greenwich High School, where she teaches English 9–12 and Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) (a program to help first generation students prepare for college) and is one of the English learning facilitators for her department.
