Erica R. Meiners

Erica R. Meiners is the author of several books that chart queer, anti-prison, and educational justice movements, including Flaunt It! Queers Organizing for Public Education and Justice, Right to Be Hostile: Schools, Prisons and the Making of Public Enemies, the forthcoming Intimate Labor, and articles in AREA Chicago, Meridians, Academe, Social Justice, Women’s Studies Quarterly, and No More Potlucks. A professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Education at Northeastern Illinois University and a member of her labor union, University Professionals of Illinois, and a science fiction fan and a long-distance runner, Erica also has been a visiting scholar at the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy (2011–2012) and a Lillian Robinson Scholar at the Simone de Beauvoir Institute in Montreal (2009–2010).
