Eduardo Duran

Eduardo Duran has been working in Indian country all of his professional career. During that time he has helped to establish Tribal-based as well as Urban behavioral health systems. Healing the Soul Wound is based on the clinical experience accumulated over more than 2 decades of clinical work. Duran has also taught graduate school and has published several papers in professional journals and magazines. He continues to lecture in this country and in international settings.

The author’s training is comprised of Western approaches as well as training with Native healers and community. Many of the clinical strategies delineated in this book are an amalgamation of these teachings and can be traced to the teachings of his Root Teacher, Tarrence. Therefore, this book is the clinical application of the ideas described in his previous book, Buddha in Redface, which is a narrative of Duran’s experiences with his teacher. Presently, Duran is director of health and wellness for the United Auburn Indian community. He lives in the forest east of Colfax, California.
