Dwayne Ray Cormier

Entrepreneur and researcher

Dwayne Ray Cormier, PhD, is an entrepreneur and researcher at Culturally Responsive Solutions and VSorts™ AI. His award-winning research focuses on the intersection between educators’ beliefs and student and family interactions affected by the sociocultural gap. He investigates how sociocultural gaps impact educators’ cultural competence, critical consciousness, relationships with students, school culture, and opportunity gaps. Using educational design research, he develops software and AI tools to assess and codify educators’ sociocultural gaps, such as cultural competence and critical consciousness. The National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research Program funds his research and development efforts for culturally responsive software and AI tools. Dr. Cormier has been published in journals including Educational Researcher, Journal of School Psychology, Urban Education, and Journal of Educational Supervision.
