Douglas B. Larkin is an assistant professor in the Department of Secondary and Special Education at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. He worked as a high school physics and chemistry teacher for ten years and served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya and Papua New Guinea. He received his PhD in Teacher Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research concerns the preparation of science teachers for culturally diverse classrooms. He currently works with preservice secondary science and math teachers in the Newark-Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program and teaches in the teacher education and teacher development doctoral program.
