Diane W. Gómez

Diane W. Gómez is an associate professor and chairperson of the Department of Educational Leadership and Special Subjects in the School of Education of Manhattanville College. She has served as a Professional Development School liaison in two full-service community schools of the Manhattanville Changing Suburbs Institute districts. Before becoming a faculty member and administrator in higher education, she was a high school Spanish and ESL teacher in public, parochial, and special education residential treatment schools in New York State and New York City. She has written several articles related to professional development schools, dual-language programs, and English learners, and has presented papers and workshops at national and international professional organization conferences. Her most recent book publications are Changing Suburbs, Changing Students: Helping School Leaders Face the Challenges (2012) and chapters in three of the five volumes of the Breaking the Mold series (2010, 2012, 2013).
