Dee Hopkins has been a primary and junior high teacher, school library media specialist, professor, and administrator. As dean of West Virginia University’s College of Human Resources and Education, she is the primary editor of It’s All about People: Case Studies in Higher Education Leadership. Her chapter, “To Dean or Not to Dean: Personal and Professional Considerations,” appears in Dean’s Balancing Acts: Education Leaders and the Challenges They Face. Raised in southern Indiana where tall tales are an art form, she frequently uses them to make a point, provide a laugh, or represent a culture. She still likes visiting classrooms to share a good story.
