David Campos (PhD, University of Texas at Austin) began his education career nearly 20 years ago when he started teaching second grade. He later entered graduate school, taught English as a Second Language, and worked in corporate training and development. He is an associate professor of education at the University of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX) where he supervises student teachers and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, multicultural education, and curriculum methods. In 2004, he traveled to China on a Fulbright.
David has authored four books and coauthored two others. He was guest editor of a special issue of the Journal of Hispanic Higher Education (Sage), which focused on language acquisition as it relates to Hispanic students. His peer-reviewed articles focus on constructivist teaching and authentic assessment by way of African American visionaries.
