Cindy D. Jones is an associate professor and Director of the Literacy Clinic in the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership at Utah State University, specializing in literacy education and classroom instruction. She works in public schools providing professional development in reading and writing instruction. Dr. Jones’s research focuses on the relationship of reading, writing, and oral discourse and how this relationship can be applied to instruction to promote students’ literacy development. She has published in major research and professional journals such as The Reading Teacher, The Journal of Educational Research, Reading and Writing Quarterly, and The Elementary School Journal. Dr. Jones received the International Reading Association Outstanding Dissertation Finalist Award, the J. Estill Alexander Future Leaders in Literacy Award, the Jerry Johns Promising Researcher Award, and the EEJ College of Education and Human Services Researcher/Scholar of the Year Award.
