Cheryl Jones-Walker is an associate professor of educational studies on leave from Swarthmore College. She holds a PhD in Foundations and Practices of Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently she is a visiting associate professor in the teacher education department at the University of San Francisco. She has worked as a teacher, as a facilitator for school-based reforms efforts, and as an organizer for various educational campaigns. Her research is focused on the examination of identities on macro- and microlevels in order to design the best supports for learners and to address larger sociohistorical issues that undermine opportunities for individuals who have been marginalized.
