Catherine Lutz

Catherine Lutz is the Thomas J. Watson Jr. Family Professor at Brown University. Past president of the American Ethnological Society, she has received numerous honors and awards, including, most recently, a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. She is the author of a number of books about the United States and its cultures, including Reading National Geographic with Jane L. Collins and Homefront: A Military City and the American 20th Century. Her editorials, articles, and book reviews have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The New Statesman, and The Nation, among other publications.
