Barbara S. Stengel is professor of the Practice of Education at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University where she is the director of the Secondary Education Program. Her work in teacher education, at Peabody and previously at Millersville University where she is professor emerita, has been grounded in an understanding of teaching and learning as relational, moral practice, and her publications—including Moral Matters with Alan Tom (Teachers College Press, 2006) and “Feelings of Worth and the Moral Made Visible” in Character and Moral Education: A Reader (DeVitis and Yu, Eds., Peter Lang, 2011)—reflect that perspective.
