Ann Bates, Ed.D., is a literacy educator who has been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and assistant professor of Reading and Language at National Louis University, where she directed the Reading Center reading improvement programs and designed a graduate course entitled Materials for At-Risk and Struggling Readers. Ann is co-author of Reading Diagnosis for Teachers and has co-authored several chapters and numerous articles in refereed publications and presented on a variety of topics at state and national conferences.
