Anete Vásquez is an assistant professor of English language arts education in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education at Kennesaw State University. Her research interests include the preparation of English language arts teachers, preparing teachers to teach diverse learners, and best practices in field experiences. She has published in The ALAN Review and recently co-authored the book Teaching Language Arts to English Language Learners. Dr. Vásquez was a classroom teacher for 12 years teaching language arts at both middle and high school levels, and she was a recipient of a 2001 Milken Educator Award as well as the University of South Florida’s Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award. She is passionate about working with preservice and inservice teachers across disciplines preparing them to serve the needs of all learners.
