Amy Noelle Parks

Amy Noelle Parks is a former elementary school teacher and the mother of two daughters. She is currently an associate professor of Mathematics Education at Michigan State University. Much of her thinking for this book was informed by 5 years of research and professional development at a rural school in Georgia that serves primarily African American children. Broadly, her research focuses on the mathematical learning of young children in both formal and informal contexts.
