Amber M. Simmons earned her doctorate in language and literacy from the University of Georgia and currently teaches 11th-grade American literature and AP Language and Composition in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Mercer University and Brenau University. Her research interests include critical literacy, systemic functional linguistics, and the use of popular culture in the classroom.
