Aimee Papola-Ellis is an associate professor of education at Loyola University Chicago. She teaches courses in the areas of literacy education and children’s literature. Her research interests center on the use of inclusive texts, critical literacy, and literacy instruction in diverse classrooms. Prior to coming to Loyola, Dr. Papola-Ellis spent 12 years in public schools across the United States, as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coach. She lives in a Chicago suburb with her husband, son, and two Shiba Inus.
