Adam Sawyer is assistant professor of Education in the Bard College Master of Arts in Teaching Program. He is devoted to improving schooling opportunities for students impacted by migration in both the United States and Latin America. His research seeks to inform teaching and policy through exploration of the interplay of schooling with student social context, family life, culture, and language. Adam has worked as a bilingual teacher in East Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and as a consultant to the Mexican Secretariat of Education. He holds a doctorate in International Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
